Susan Marcussen has a unique love of finance – something that often surprises people. As a dyslexic, she finds traditional texts challenging, but financial reports are a different story. To her, an annual report can be as exciting and revealing as a John Grisham thriller. Susan’s mission is to inspire others to discover the rich insights hidden in financial documents. She believes that understanding these reports allows you to take meaningful action and witness how an organisation can thrive and grow.
Rather than relying on lengthy explanations, Susan communicates using circles, arrows, squares and memorable stories that bring financial concepts to life. Her approach is rooted in storytelling, transforming complex financial data into simple, relatable ideas that professionals can immediately understand and apply. She believes in making finance accessible and empowering people to trust their judgement to make better proposals, secure capital and take meaningful action.
With over 20 years of corporate experience as an International Chartered Controller, Susan combines her passion for finance with a deep commitment to education and development. Her qualifications include an Executive Master in Finance and Control from Maastricht University and a Bachelor in Teacher Education from Tilburg University. Susan is dedicated to making finance accessible and inspiring professionals to see the beauty and value in financial information.
